Moreover, there are mental benefits such as stress reduction, better brain function, and increased self-esteem. Physical activity stimulates the production of endorphins, the brain’s natural mood elevators, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. And exercise improves blood flow to the brain, which can boost memory, concentration, and overall cognitive function. And achieving fitness goals, no matter how small, can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment because it is good for weight management. Engaging in physical activity helps burn calories, maintain a healthy weight, and prevent obesity.
While many Korean girls own automobiles, they typically use them for leisure activities on weekends. During the week, most Korean girls rely on public transportation such as buses and subways. This daily routine encourages them to walk several miles, often amounting to at least an hour of walking each day. By walking around 10,000 steps daily, they naturally maintain their weight without the need for additional exercise. This consistent physical activity helps them stay slim and attractive, as they rarely have the opportunity to gain weight due to their active lifestyle. In contrast, many people in America rely heavily on driving and have limited opportunities for walking, which can contribute to weight gain, particularly resulting in a common issue where individuals develop thin thighs but a big belly. Reducing driving time and incorporating more walking into daily routines is a key strategy for addressing this problem. Walking not only helps burn calories but also promotes a more balanced distribution of muscle tone, aiding in overall weight loss and healthier body composition.
