Chinese Seismologists Warned of Impending Earthquakes Days Before Myanmar Disaster

It has been revealed that Chinese seismologists had issued a warning about the possibility of a large-scale earthquake just eight days before Myanmar was struck by a devastating seismic event, according to foreign media sources. Their research not only foresaw the potential risk in Myanmar but also cautioned that the earthquake might be the start of a more extensive seismic activity impacting southwestern China and the Himalayas in the near future.

Early Warning from Chinese Researchers

On April 6, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that a team of researchers led by Zhu Hongbin from the Beijing Earthquake Bureau had published a study emphasizing heightened seismic risks. Their findings appeared in the Journal of Geodesy and Geodynamics, an academic journal under the China Earthquake Bureau, on March 20.

The study involved an extensive analysis of earthquake data spanning approximately 150 years, tracing seismic activity from 1879 to the present. By examining historical patterns, the research team identified six major seismic “active periods” affecting China and its neighboring regions.

Predictions Come True

According to the researchers, certain areas of China have seemingly entered a new phase of intensified seismic activity, raising concerns about the region’s vulnerability to future earthquakes. Their assessment gained significant attention after the Myanmar earthquake occurred precisely in the location their model had predicted.

One of the study's crucial observations highlighted a gradual shift in the stress axis, moving northeastward. This shift is expected to heighten the likelihood of powerful tremors in key locations such as Sichuan, Yunnan, and the Himalayan region in the coming years.

Healing Quotient Travel Warning for American Travelers

Given the escalating seismic risks identified by experts, the Healing Quotient Travel Advisory strongly recommends that American travelers avoid visiting Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tibet in China in the near future. These regions, already known for their susceptibility to earthquakes, are now facing an increased likelihood of significant seismic events that could pose serious risks to visitors.

Authorities urge travelers to reconsider their plans and prioritize destinations with a lower risk of natural disasters. Travelers currently in these regions should stay informed about emergency procedures and remain vigilant about safety precautions.
